Band 7+ Writing Templates
A four-paragraph structure for each of the five Task 2 question types: opinion, discussion, problem and solution, advantages and disadvantages, and the two-part question. Each one says what belongs in every paragraph and how many sentences it usually takes, so you stop deciding the shape of the essay during the exam and spend that time on the argument instead. They are frameworks, not scripts. A memorised essay is easy to spot and it caps your Task Response, so the wording has to be yours. If you want the questions to practise them on, there are Task 2 questions with model answers on the site.
Speaking Topics List
Topics grouped by part, with a note on what each part is testing, because the three parts are three different jobs. Part 1 wants short, natural answers of two or three sentences. Part 2 wants two minutes of uninterrupted speech off one cue card. Part 3 wants developed opinions with reasons, and it is where most candidates lose the band by answering in one line. We write these topics ourselves. Nobody can lawfully publish the questions from a live IELTS test, and any site telling you it has this month's real exam questions is telling you something it cannot know. Practise the shapes, not a leak. The cue card library has full Part 2 prompts with follow-up questions.
Reading Question Type Guide
Eight question types, each with the order to work in and the specific trap it sets: True, False, Not Given; Matching Headings; Multiple Choice; Sentence Completion; Summary Completion; Matching Information; Short Answer; and Table, Flow Chart and Diagram Completion. The most useful part is the distinction between False and Not Given, which is where more marks are lost than anywhere else in the paper, because the two feel identical under time pressure and are not. Listening Survival Kit
The mechanical marks, which are the cheapest ones to win back. Numbers that are confused with each other under pressure, the words most often misspelled in listening answers, and the signal phrases that tell you an answer is about to arrive. It also has a section-by-section note on what each part of the test throws at you. None of this is comprehension. It is the layer underneath, where candidates who understood the recording perfectly still lose marks by writing fifteen when they heard fifty, or by spelling accommodation with one m.
